Description

These requirements cover contained vertical steel aboveground tank assemblies that are used for the storage of flammable and combustible liquids such as gasoline, fuel oil, or similar products with a relative density not greater than 1.0.

These assemblies consist of primary tanks constructed and tested for compliance with the requirements of ULC-S630, Standard for Shop Fabricated Steel Aboveground Vertical Tanks for Flammable and Combustible Liquids, contained in essentially open, but precipitation protected, steel casings having capacities of not less than 110% of the primary tanks.

The assemblies covered by these requirements are intended for stationary installation and use in accordance with the following:
  • National Fire Code of Canada, Part 4
  • CSA B139, Installation Code for Oil Burning Equipment
  • The Environmental Code of Practice for Aboveground Storage Tank Systems Containing Petroleum Products
  • The requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
