Concrete Design Handbook – 4th Edition

The 4th Edition of the Concrete Design Handbook, the premier guide for concrete design in Canada, covers many aspects of the structural design of conventionally reinforced and prestressed concrete buildings. It offers a comprehensive analysis of the CSA Group standard A23.3-14, Design of concrete structures, and addresses the design of reinforced concrete structural elements in accordance with the Standard.

This new edition reflects changes made to the CSA Group standard A23.3-14 and aligns with the 2015 National Building Code of Canada. It supersedes the 3rd Edition printed in 2006.

In order to keep the volume of the Handbook to a reasonable size, a number of the design aids which form part of this Handbook are not included in the printed version but are now available as a free download from the Cement Association of Canada website.

The CSA Group standard A23.3-14 (a $205 value) is included in the Handbook.

*The price of the printed edition of the Concrete Design Handbook has increased due to increased costs of manufacturing and paper*

About the Author

The Cement Association of Canada (CAC) represents the Canadian cement industry – eight companies with clinker and cement manufacturing facilities, granulators, grinding facilities and cement terminals. Together, we strive to maintain a sustainable industry as well as promote and advance the economic, environmental and societal benefits of building with cement and concrete. A founding member of the Concrete Council of Canada, the CAC builds and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholder organizations. It advances the industry’s position as a proactive partner in addressing society’s sustainability challenge, and in the face of climate change, the resiliency imperative.
The CAC advocates for legislative and regulatory environments that allow a fair competitive playing field for its members at all levels of government and it advises on technical matters important to the cement and concrete industries, such as codes, standards, specifications and best practice.
