Building Structural Manual
This self-study manual has been developed to assist building practitioners review and become familiar with the particular portions of the OBC 1997 dealing with structural requirements. In conformance with the Building Structural Syllabus–2003 published by the Building and Development Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, this self-study course deals particularly with Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 and 11 of the OBC 1997 and Supplementary Guidelines SG-4, SG-7 and SG-10.
This material will prepare the individual to write the qualification examination Building Structural–2003.
Under regulatory reforms, certain building practitioners are required to successfully complete an examination on their knowledge of the material in the Building Structural course by January 1, 2006. For more information on these requirements visit the ministry’s Web site at www.obc.mah.gov.on.ca.
