Preface This is the first edition of CSA Standard C22.2 No. 197, Pvc Insulating Tape. It is written in SI (metric) units. This Standard applies to polyvinyl chloride for (PVC) insulating tape for use at a maximum temperature of 6 0, 80,90 or 105°C, insulating joints and splices in wires and cables having voltage ratings up to 1000 V, in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I. The tape is intended to be applied in layers, each layer being half-lapped and each joint or splice insulated so as to provide an acceptable level of insulation.
