Preface Standards development within the Information Technology sector is harmonized with international standards development. Through the CSA Technical Committee on Information Technology (TCIT), Canadians serve as the Canadian Advisory Committee (CAC) on ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1 on Information Technology (ISO/IEC JTC1) for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), the ISO member body for Canada and sponsor of the Canadian National Committee of the IEC. Also, as a member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Canada participates in the International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee (ITU-T). Scope This International Standard provides a collection of graphical symbols which are used typically on office equipment to aid in the user operation of for example personal computers, printers, telephones and copying machines. These symbols can also be used in other application areas if appropriate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Préface  Les normes du secteur de la technologie de l'information sont harmonisées avec les normes internationales. Au nom du Conseil canadien des normes (CCN), organisme membre de l'ISO et parrain du Comité national canadien de la CEI, le Comité technique CSA sur la technologie de l'information (CTTI) représente le Comité consultatif canadien (CCC) au sein du Comité technique conjoint 1 ISO/CEI sur la technologie de l'information (JTC1 ISO/CEI). En outre, à titre de membre de l'Union internationale des télécommunications (UIT), le Canada fait partie du comité consultatif international télégraphique et téléphonique (CCITT). Domaine d’application La présente Norme internationale constitue une collection de symboles graphiques généralement utilisés sur le matériel de bureau, dans le but de faciliter leur mise en oeuvre par les utilisateurs, par exemple sur les ordinateurs personnels, les imprimantes, les téléphones et les photocopieurs. Ces symboles peuvent également servir à d'autres applications au besoin.
