Scope This part of ISO/IEC 13522 specifies the procedure to be followed by a Registration Authority in preparing, maintaining a nd publishing a register of names (identifiers) allocated to MHEG Registered Objects. NOTE - The term "object" is used generically in a standard English manner and refers to any type of entity or element contained in the ISO/IEC 13522 suite of standards. The registered object identifiers to which this part of ISO/IEC 13522 refers are those used in ISO/IEC 13522-l. An object registered in accordance with this part of ISO/IEC 13522 h as an unambiguous identifier associated with it in the register. Apart from such identification, registration does not affect the status of the standard concerned. Thus, the registration procedure must be clearly distinguished from the standardisation process. An MHEG Registered Object is a data type or other MHEG entity that can be referenced by an MHEG system through the unique identifier assigned to it by the Registration Authority.
