Preface This is the first edition of CAN / CSA-Z10524-2, Regulators for Use with Medical Gases - Part 2: Ramp and Pipe Regulators. This is the adoption, with Canada-specific requirements, of the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 10524-2 (first edition, 2005-05-01), which has the same title. Field of application 1.1 * This part of ISO 10524 specifies the requirements for boom regulators, as defined in 3.6, for connection to cylinders with a maximum supply pressure of 25 000 kPa at 15 ° C and pipe regulators, as defined in 3.4, for a maximum supply pressure of 3,000 kPa and intended to supply the following medical gas distribution networks:   oxygen nitrous oxide breathable air carbon dioxide oxygen / nitrous oxide mixtures air for surgical instruments nitrogen for surgical instruments the oxygen produced by the oxygen concentrators 1.2 * This part of ISO 10524 applies to boom and pipe regulators supplied in the form of individual units or as part of components to be assembled. 1.3 This part of ISO 10524 does not apply to pressure reducers used with suction systems. Note:  The requirements for regulators used with suction systems are described in ISO 10079-3.
