This one-hour continuing education course provides an overview of Heat Detection of a Fire Condition including an animated demonstration of heat detector and sprinkler response in a fire condition, followed by:

• Discussion of “dual action” and “fixed temperature only”.
• Cut-away views showing rate-of-rise and fixed temperature function
• How to identify operation type (especially “fixed temperature only”.)
• Conventional detector operation versus addressable-type heat detector.
• Acceptable and unacceptable test methods.
• Installation considerations and cautions
• Specific S524 Installation requirements
• Other detector types including Linear Heat Detection
