Description
Scope 1.1 This Standard applies to ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) intended for installation in non-hazardous locations at nominal system voltages of 600 V and less, in accordance with CSA Standard C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, in order to automatically de-energize some part of an electrical installation. 1.2 This Standard includes provisions for Class A GFCIs, the use of which for protection from electric shock is specified in the Rules of CSA Standard C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I. 1.3 This Standard applies also to GFCIs other than Class A. 1.4 This Standard includes minimum requirements for the function, construction and performance of interrupters.
