Preface
This is the first edition of CSA TS-602, Railway application — Rolling stock — Onboard lithium-ion traction batteries. This Technical Specification (herein referred to as “this Document”) is not a consensus product; that is, it is not a Standard and it has not been formally approved by a CSA Technical Committee.
This Document is intended to be used in conjunction with IEC 62928 (first edition, 2017-12), Railway applications — Rolling stock — Onboard lithium-ion traction batteries.
The North American deviations in this Document are intended to
a) correct inaccuracies;
b) replace references to ISO and IEC Standards with references to Canadian and U.S. Standards, where applicable; and
c) provide guidance to reflect North American freight rail environmental and operating conditions.

This Document is considered suitable for use for conformity assessment within the stated scope of the document.
