This is the first edition of CSA TS-094, Guidance on inclusive industrial protective headwear.

 

This Technical Specification (referred to as "this Document" from here on) is not a consensus product; that is, it is not a Standard and it has not been formally approved by a CSA Technical Committee.

 

CSA Group acknowledges that the development of this Document was made possible, in part, by the financial support of Public Services and Procurement Canada, Government of Canada.

 

This Document was developed through a collaboration between two CSA Group workshops on inclusive industrial protective headwear and the Working Group on Inclusive Industrial Protective Headwear. This Document was reviewed by the Working Group.

 

Scope

 

1.1 Inclusion

 

This Document applies to industrial protective headwear used in work settings such as manufacturing, construction, mining, utilities, and other sectors where headwear is required.

 

It outlines design considerations for inclusive industrial protective headwear that is safe, ergonomic, adaptable, and accessible to diverse user needs across various workplace environments.

 

1.2 Exclusion

 

This Document does not apply to headwear designed for recreational or non-industrial, or non- occupational purposes. It is not intended to serve as a design specification, nor does it provide guidance on the performance, selection, care, or use of industrial protective headwear.

 

1.3 Terminology

 

This Document contains no requirements. In this Document, "should" is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required, and "may" is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the Document.
