Description

These requirements cover special purpose relocatable aboveground vertical steel storage tanks. These tanks are of the non-pressure type used for the bulk storage of flammable and combustible liquids with a relative density of not greater than 1.0, such as gasoline, fuel oil or similar products. These tanks are not for dispensing or process use.

These tanks are provided with integral supports to allow for relocation by suitable transport such as flat bed trailers. Tanks fabricated in accordance with these requirements are not intended for the transportation of fuel nor are they to be transported while containing fuel. These requirements do not cover tanks of capacities greater than 65 000 L.

Relocatable tank assemblies, when in use, are intended to be a stationary installation and as such, the use of these assemblies must be in accordance with the following documents:
  • National Fire Code of Canada
  • CAN/CSA-B139, Installation Code for Oil Burning Equipment
  • The Environmental Code of Practice for Aboveground Storage Tank System Containing Petroleum Products
  • The Requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
