Description

These requirements cover cylindrical horizontal steel tanks of the non-pressure type, which are:
  • Manufactured in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Standard for Steel Underground Tanks for Flammable and Combustible Liquids, CAN/ULC-S603M
  • Provided with a factory-applied corrosion protection coating in accordance with the requirements contained in this Document as an alternative to the protection specified in the Standard for Galvanic Corrosion Protection Systems for Steel Underground Tanks for Flammable and Combustible Liquids, CAN/ULC-S603.1
  • Used for the underground storage of flammable and combustible liquids such as gasoline, fuel oil, and similar products.

The tanks covered by these requirements are intended for installation and use in accordance with the regulations of the Authority Having Jurisdiction, the National Fire Code of Canada, Part 4 and CSA B139, Installation Code for Oil Burning Equipment. Published 1/31/1996.
