Description
These requirements cover time controlled locks intended for attachment on vault doors, on the doors of security containers, and the like, to provide a means for locking the door for a predetermined length of time for protection against burglary, robbery or other coercive actions.
The devices, whether mechanical or electronic, may operate under pre-programmed parameters or be set manually as desired, or a combination of both methods. There are no requirements for minimum or maximum time settings other than for the maximum setting to be 120 h or more.
The device shall be mounted so that its time input means and its mechanism shall not be accessible from outside the protected enclosure when the door is closed and locked.
