The CFAA Simulated and Proctored Theory Exam contains two parts; a simulated theory exam and the final proctored theory exam.

The Simulated Theory Exam is composed of random questions contained in Course 1, Course 5 and the Theory Exam. There is no proctoring but the exam is timed to simulate what you will experience when you take the final Proctored Exam. You may take the simulated exam as often as you like and review your wrong answer report to assist with your study.

Preparation for the Theory exam can done by reviewing the Codes and Standards, Courses 1-5 manuals. Some questions will also test on field or lab experience. You will not be able to review the exam after it is marked. Only the final numerical results of the exam will be provided. Should you not pass, you will be required to register and pay for another exam. Passing grade is 80%. The current price for the Proctored exam is $75.00 plus applicable taxes. A simulated version is also offered with a proctored exam, this is highly recommended as it will give practice tests before attempting the final Proctored Exam.

Preparation for the Theory exam can done by doing an extensive review of CAN/ULC-524, CAN/ULC-536 and CAN/ULC-537 Standards. National Building and Fire Codes.  In order to be successful on this exam, it is STRONGLY recommended that you have a copy of these Standards and Codes available during the exam (i.e. open book).  Some questions will also test on field or lab experience.
