The Large Building 2012 Online Course provides you with the requirements of the Building Code applicable to Large Buildings. The Large Building class of registration and category of qualification can be found in Division C – Part 3, Table 3.5.2.1. Item 3. Large Buildings are all buildings with an area greater than 10 m² and:

1)            Used for

               a)            Group A, assembly occupancy

               b)            Group B, care or detention occupancies, or

               c)            Group F, Division 1, high hazard industrial occupancies, and

2)            Exceeding 600 m2 in building area or exceeding 3 storeys in building height used for major occupancies classified as

               a)            Group C, residential occupancies

               b)            Group D, business and personal service occupancies

               c)            Group E, mercantile occupancies, or

               d)            Group F, Divisions 2 and 3, medium and low hazard industrial occupancies, and the building systems, works, fixtures and service systems appurtenant to these buildings.
